We proud citizens of the Netherlands wish to make a statement about Muslims and The Netherlands: a statement that has become a taboo since 9/11, a statement that has been neglected systematically by Dutch media and Dutch politicians.

We want to bring this message to the World of Islam where since Hirsi Ali and “The submission videos” people believe that Holland is in the hands of Muslim-bashers. We want to say this to our fellow Dutch citizens, non-Muslims, and Muslims. So that they remember the face of their ordinary Muslim, non-Muslim colleagues, friends, students, business partners, before they start talk about “Islam”.

We want to make it clear that Wilders and other Mulsim-bashers are not running this country. We want to let our fellow Muslim citizens know that this country is their homeland, that they in their daily lives enjoy the openness and the chances of a democratic society like all citizens of The Netherlands do. We think that this is a fact. That, in fact this is valid for the experience of many and most of the Muslims in The Netherlands.

We say it loud and proud, let the whole world hear and know. Against all odds and prejudice and propaganda of Wilders and like-minded hyped up media feeders:

Wij willen een statement maken over moslims en Nederland: een statement dat sinds 9/11 taboe is en dat door de Nederlandse politiek en media systematisch wordt genegeerd.

Wij willen onze boodschap ook uitstralen naar de islamitische wereld, waar sinds Hirsi Ali en Submission de indruk is ontstaan dat Nederland in handen is van islambashers.

Onze boodschap is gericht aan onze Nederlandse medeburgers – moslims én niet-moslims. Zodat ze niet vergeten, voor ze beginnen te praten over ‘de islam’, eerst de gezichten voor zich te zien van hun collega’s, vrienden, medestudenten en zakenpartners – moslims én niet-moslims.

Wij willen duidelijk maken dat Wilders en al die andere moslimbashers niet de baas zijn in dit land.

Wij willen onze islamitische medeburgers laten weten dat Nederland hun vaderland is. Dat zij, net als alle Nederlandse burgers, in hun dagelijks leven kunnen meedelen in de openheid van dit land en de kansen die een democratische samenleving als deze biedt. Wij denken dat dit waar is. En dat verreweg de meeste moslims in Nederland dit ook zo ervaren.

We roepen het van de daken, we roepen het met trots. We willen dat de hele wereld het weet. Tegen de klippen op en tegen alle vooroordelen en propaganda van Wilders en al die anderen die de media bespelen in:
